Before & After: Landscaping

FINALLY...we finished landscaping around our home. Let's just say, "THAT WAS A LOT OF WORK!" Chris and I did it all by ourselves, which is unheard of around our neighborhood. We have yet to see anyone around here plant their own plant let alone trees and mulch. We are one of a kind. :)

Anyway...we started from nothing. Chris created the beds, trenched the beds. Then we let time pass as we went on vacation and his hard work was washed away. Words to remember, "Trench and then mulch RIGHT AWAY!" Something we would recommend to anyone that is building a new home, have your bed cut out first and lay your sod around your bed of mulch. Then install the sprinkler system OUTSIDE the beds. Something Chris and I now have to move - all of our sprinkler heads.

Next...the shopping. I shopped with the kids in tow to local places to buy all of the plants. The plants in the back came from plants at our previous address and some from my mom's garden (thanks Mom!).  The much I majoring negotiated to get delivered for free, all 11 cubic yards of it, and at the lowest price. We ended up getting at a local landscape design place near our home and would recommend (Greenlife Gardens). Now, we have almost everything installed. We have 5 remaining plants to plant because we did not have them until today, and it has rained all day. Believe me, we are in no hurry to plant them!

Last but not least - the photos! These were taken before we were actually done, but you get the idea. Now, we can sit back and enjoy because we are done!!! SO DONE! Okay, at least until next year.
