One Long Week

Finally, this week is drawing to an end. Seriously, what a long week. Chris pointed out that it would have seemed longer if Alivia was in school all week. Having Alivia and Addison at home meant we did not have to get up early and go anywhere. It was just replaced by a louder house, potty training, and no quiet time for Mommy (which makes me go bonkers).

Chris came home Friday with news that he got a job at his current company doing front end development (don't ask...I have no idea what that is) at the same location, meaning he does not have to go to base. The contract on this job lasts through 2010, buying him more time. This brings us a little relief. However, our future is still uncertain. We don't want to do anything with the house because we do not know if we will be able to live in it. After all, Chris may find a job in Tahiti (oh, that would be nice) and we would have to move again. We can not rule anything out. Also, we need to save any extra pennies we can in case he becomes unemployed. Just FYI, the unemployment benefits in Nebraska are simply pathetic and would barely cover our groceries!

Today Chris took down the outside Christmas lights, cleared out more of the driveway, and cleared snow off our roof. He was outside all day. Alivia and Addison joined him for a while. Asher and I stayed in the warmer house thinking they were nuts for going out in the cold, while Asher had another unsuccessful potty training day (seriously, this is getting old already). The girls had fun sledding a bit, though. Chris hopes to dig out the sidewalk to the house tomorrow. As for the sidewalk along the street - forget it! There is now like 12 foot of snow on top of it! That was nice of the snow plow. Good thing we do not have any neighbors. Oh, and we have not a clue where our fire hydrant went. It is also buried deep beneath a big pile of snow.

I hate to hope for a more peaceful next week. Perhaps I should just ask for a peaceful hour, minute or second.
