Zoo of a Day

After Alivia and her friend Zoe stayed up until 12:30 AM on Thursday night (they had Friday off of school), I thought, what a better way to test their exhaustion by taking them to the zoo!

We met up with our friend Stacy with her 3 kiddos (Alivia's friend Sydney) and then ran into another friend from Alivia's first grade class. So, in all, there were 10 kiddos and 3 parents (including 2 babies!). It was crazy, but fun. As it turned out, someone else had the same idea as the zoo was just that, a zoo.

We visited the desert dome, the jungle, butterflies, aquarium, the tigers and then made our way to a picnic lunch. Okay, I may have failed on my lunch. I was not used to packing for 4 kids and simply ran out of room. And, nobody wanted a sandwich as I packed the lunch and they all wanted it when it was time to eat. Lesson learned, bring more than I think we will need.

After lunch, it was time to chill out to an IMAX...Alaska. Someone else had that very same idea, too. We ended up getting seats altogether (amazing for as many of us were together now), ate popcorn, and just chilled out. The movie was over the kids' heads, again, but the IMAX is always fun to visit and a fun experience for the kids.

After the IMAX, Stacy and I were exhausted (if we were not exhausted enough before the IMAX!). We had a fun morning, but we knew the fun had run its course.

After our return home, Zoe stayed for another hour or so before it was time for her to go home. Then, the kids and I took a walk around the lake, then up to the school playground to play. The kids had so much fun and still had energy to spare.

After all that fun, Mommy was spent.

The kids had a lot of fun. We have to soak up all the childhood moments and memories while we can. Now, when is the next day off school?

How many kiddos can we fit into the Penguin Bubble?
