November Day at the Zoo

72 in November?

We could not pass up this fabulous November weather, so we set out for the zoo!

We arrived at opening (9:30). The weather was already so nice. We hit the desert dome first, then the monkeys, tigers, bears, then took a break at the playground. We had to climb the big hill to see the elephant and the rhino. The path up there is so beautiful this time of year. We walked to the garden of the census, then to the giraffe area for lunch. Addison skipped along the path all the way. It made me sad thinking next year she will be in Kindergarten! Really?

After lunch, we visited the butterflies (and spiders) and the fish - or as Asher says, "Ish!"

The zoo has changed a lot in the last few weeks. The animals and the zoo are winterized, more inside, water fountains covered, the skyfari closed. The 72 degrees today helped us forget, for just a moment, of the looming winter months ahead.

As we left the zoo, the kids decided they liked the tiger getting fed and getting a shot best. Is it okay that I just liked spending time with the kids in what I would say to be a perfect day?
