Monday we got up and drove to my parents in Iowa. First, they have a little ceremony at the cemetery. It was SO WINDY! All three kiddos put flowers on the grave of the unknown soldier, which was cute. It is amazing what they will do for a soda (Kids that put flowers on the grave get a free soda, and they never get that at home!).
Then, it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the annual picnic. Grandma and Grandpa had way too much food as usual, but it was oh so good. Too bad Addison and Asher did not sit down long enough to eat anything. Ugh.
The "boys" went to work on the airplane, talk about the airplane, etc, while the rest of us played inside away from the wind. After a full day and dessert, it was time to head back home.
We all had a fun day. We give thanks for those men and women who sacrifice themselves/time with their families so that we can be free.
