I hate saying good-bye. I am lucky that I do not have to do it often, I guess.
Yesterday we had to say good bye to friends that we have had for most of the time we lived in Shadow Lake as they are moving to their permanent home in Wisconsin after being in the Air Force. Asher and Addison (mostly Asher though) was friends with both Elijah (age 6) and little Evan who just turned 2. Alivia was the one that introduced us to this wonderful family as she was friends with Sydney since Kindergarten at Bell. Our families grew closer together, having play dates, going to Zumba (well, Stacie and I did this, :)), and just spending time together at all the local child friendly hot spots.
Yesterday they came to our house to play a while (and do their laundry) and then we went to swim in the pool at the suite they are staying at until Saturday (their home sold last month but they can not move into their new home until Sunday). It was a fun day, but it had a dark cloud hanging over it...the good-bye.
The kids played in the pool as the lump grew larger in my throat. After the kids had a snack, I knew it was time for us to go. I could hardly speak as I told the kids to be good for their Mommy and Daddy in Wisconsin. As I turned to Stacy, I broke down.
Seriously, what a baby.
Like I said, I am horrible at saying good-bye.
I know we will keep in touch, and I truly hope that we will see them again. Real friends are really hard to find, and Stacy, Eric and their kids are irreplaceable!

Good byes are so hard! At least you had the playdates and maybe they will come back and visit, or you can go visit them. It's tough, I know. Nice pictures of your day together. It's not fun!
