I did not really know what to do today. My plans for our staycation were thrown away when beautiful spring weather arrived!
So, we decided to go to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. We arrived, parked far away, and started walking towards the bridge. We arrived on a beautiful day to find the bridge was closed for repairs! What's a family to do? So, we walked the riverwalk towards the Heartland of America Park. I wanted to take the kids there anyway!
What a beautiful day to walk through a beautiful park. We were greeted by geese, swans and ducks. We got out the crackers and fed them. Birds were coming from everywhere to get a piece of cracker. I am not sure we were supposed to be feeding them, the kids had a lot of fun. We walked all the way around the park ending up at a picnic table just in time for a picnic. Have a mentioned how fabulous the weather was today? The car said 78 degrees at one point today!
We walked into the wind back to the car. The kids settled into their car seats as we rode to our next adventure.
We arrived at my parent's farm about 1:00, dropped off the girls, and Asher and I went to the airport for a little airplane ride (Addi and Alivia did not want to go). Once at the airport, I opened the van door and awoke Asher. He had not a clue where he was or what we were about to do. He looked around then at me, then at Grandpa. We got him out of his seat and into the cockpit of the airplane. What a way to wake up from a nap!
The flight was a little bumpy with the wind and a little warm, but I was the only one who seemed to mind. Asher peeked out the window to take in the sights. We saw my parent's farm and a lot of windmills from the air.
We went back to the farm to play for a bit. Asher rode in Grandpa's tractor and really liked that. We got home just in time to pick up Subway for dinner and meet Chris at home.
What another fun day! What will tomorrow bring?
